Ciao!
Day 12 of Napa Love… and we’re heading straight to the Italian countryside.
We cozied up at Violetto, and it felt like stepping into a refined farmhouse tucked somewhere between Napa and rural Italy. Farmhouse Italian is so deeply my love language… give me rustic, soulful, countryside cooking over anything overly fussy and I’m home. There’s something about honest ingredients, handmade pasta, and recipes rooted in tradition that always pulls me in.
And perhaps that’s why this one felt extra special… especially knowing I’m heading to cooking school in Sicily this September! Fully leaning into my rustico Italiano era.
From the moment we walked in, the ambiance set the tone. Warm lighting, earthy textures, natural wood, and that intimate, cozy energy that invites you to settle in and stay awhile. It feels thoughtful and elevated, yet grounded… like a countryside trattoria dressed up just enough for a Napa evening out.
We chose the four-course tasting menu with wine pairings - the perfect way to experience it.
The menu leaned beautifully into Italian pasta and seafood-driven courses, each one layered with seasonal flavors and simple, confident execution. Handmade pasta that tasted delicate yet deeply satisfying. Seafood dishes that felt fresh and vibrant, balanced with richness where it mattered. Every course felt rooted in tradition.
What I loved most is that Violetto doesn’t try to reinvent Italian cuisine. It honors it. It celebrates rustic technique, quality ingredients, and the kind of meal meant to be savored slowly.
If you love cozy interiors, countryside flavors, handmade pasta, seafood-forward Italian cooking, and a thoughtfully curated wine experience… this is your spot.
Day 12 and Napa Love is still going strong.
With amore,
Michelle
